USYC PROFILE
UYSC was founded in 2002 by group of learned scholastic and responsible Somali youth (mean and women) who discussed the problems facing the Somali community specially the target group. The founders of USYC highlighted and focused the collaboration and working hand in hand in emergence development and rehabilitation for Somali country.
Objectives of the council
- Community services development such education agriculture water resources activities, health etc.
- Human rights and peace encouragement solution
- Capacity building and good governance
- Unifying and development of Somali youth standard of education to contribute national services of the country
- To assist national and international societies in their efforts due to assistance of the vulnerable groups of the society
- To minimize dependency by encouraging youth self reliance and self confidence for Somali youth
- To educate people in general and youth in particular HIV Aids and other healthily life practices.
- To collaborate with NGO and individual donors the development programs and whole social services
- To create job opportunity for youth as well as to help the ages
- To create or help creation and maintenance in Somalia a home worthily of dignity of social through community contribution
Council states and its philosophy
USYC is non-governmental non-political and non-profit making council. Whose mission is to upgrade through technical and orientation system to the small-scale classes of the community .the council has also its own strategic plans to attain their activities.
Council core value and member ship
The council ‘s core values include:
1 commitment with in the society targets groups and donors should be fulfilled
2 honorary and associate member ship
3 founding membership are individuals who voluntary with their own efforts founded the council.
4 honorary memberships are members’ selected from the community for their responsibility and give financial assistance to their societies
5 transparencies with in society target community and donors.
Board of trustees
BOT .is the highest governing body of the council whose duties and responsibilities includes policy formation, found raising, decision making process, planning and preparation of leadership and managerial system of the council, election of chair person and the executive committee of the council.
Executive Committee
It will consist of 21 members from the board elected to hold a specific position with in the council. The main duties of the executive committee are as follows.
1 to carry out day-to-day excusive work of the council
2 to monitor and flow up the whole activities of the council and its implementations.
3 other duties assigned by the board of trustees.
